How can we help the poor? [practical]
Here are some practical suggestions for learning how to live for others in mercy ministry in a normal everyday way. You may be called to go out of our way to love and seek the welfare of those in your community, but also may exhibit itself by just being more aware of people, prepared to help, and intentional about pursuing their good.
Be aware
Who is my neighbor? Jesus teaches us that anyone in need is our neighbor. You can get started by paying more attention to those on your path (in your neighborhood, at the grocery store, at work) building a relationship that helps you discover others felt needs than can open the door to their core gospel need.
What are your resources? Although we should not think of the helping the materially poor as “getting rid of leftovers,” we can begin by taking steps by donating food, clothes, toys, and other goods or resources.
Be prepared

Make an effort - be more aware of the needs of those around you (in your neighborhood, school).
